Teton Village Trail Rides

Heading through the Tetons, we made a stop at Teton Village. Here, the kids got to go horseback riding at Teton  Village Trail Rides. The girls went out on an hour long trail ride in the mountains. Little Man got to go for a half an hr ride in the pasture. The cost was very reasonable, $40 for each girl & $20 for Little Man. The kids were all smiles! The 2 sepia pictures were taken of them out on the trail by Lauren Dillon Photography. The rest of the pictures are mine.

The staff at Teton Village Trail Rides were very helpful and accommodating. I was the only adult, with my 3 kids who were all different ages. Being 1 parent, they kindly let my girls go out on the trail without me so I could stay with Little Man. Little Man was insistent on riding when I was paying for the girls, so I paid for him as well. Then, when it was time to get on his horse, he backed out and insisted that he did not want to go on the horse.

The man leading the horse was patient and helped my son warm up to the horse by first touching, then petting, eventually sitting on, and finally being led around on the horse. He didn't rush my son to get over his "fear." Then, out in the pasture, he actively engaged talking with Little Man, pointing out various animals and asking him questions. The guide led the horse, with Little man seated by himself in the saddle, around the pasture for quite a few passes. All in all, they spent about 30 minutes out on the horse, well worth the $20.

Teton Village Trail Rides is located in Teton Village, across from the Snake River Lodge in the lower village. Their phone number is: (307) 733-2674 and you can access their website via the link at the beginning of the post.

*We went in the morning just before 10am and it wasn't crowded. As we were leaving during the 11am hour, it was becoming more crowded.
