Chiricahua National Monument

Yesterday we spent the day hiking, climbing and bouldering around Chiricahua National Monument. It was a lot of fun, and surprisingly gorgeous as well. It was a 2 hr drive east of us, but well worth it. The place is a wonderland of rock columns and balanced rocks. At the moment it is free to enter and camp at the Monument.
The highest point, Massai Point, is accessible by car. There's a shaded picnic table at the top, restrooms, a nice trail, as well as an exhibit building. The view is beautiful.

Israella had to direct the lost hikers...that's why you should stick to the trail.

After climbing around Massai Point, we went to the Echo Canyon Trail and hiked half a mile (one way) to the Grottoes. On the way we did some more rock climbing and bouldering. We also say a lizard, and some kind of animal's droppings.
