Today we ventured out the the Hello Kitty Cafe in Changcheon-dong, between the Sinchon subway station and the Sinchon Railway station. The location link with a map is at the bottom. It is about 100 feet up a side road, off of the main road of Myeongmul-gil. The place is a big pink restaurant above a yellow store. We took a cab from the Korean War Memorial, and it cost $8.50. We walked around and then took the subway from Sogang station to Gongdeok, transferred to line 6 and headed back home. It was rather painless.
The cafe serves pretty much only sweets, though we did buy a hotdog. It is not a place to buy Hello Kitty memorabilia, though it is decked out in Hello Kitty fashion. The couches have Hello Kitties on them. There is a big Hello Kitty cutout in one of the walls for a window. The atmosphere is really laid back, like a local coffee shop you go and hang out at.

Eating a cheese hotdog, a strawberry smoothie and a coke.
There are 2 levels to the cafe. On the top floor there is a balcony to sit outside on.
We spent $11.50 (US equivalent) on 1 smoothie, 1 cheese hotdog and 1 can of coke. The smoothie wasn't bad, but the hotdog and coke were overpriced in my opinion...$3 for a can of coke?...but we went so our 4 year old could see the place. The Hello Kitty Cafe on Jeju Island looks like the one to go to!
